Bazaar 0.6.3 released
Bazaar, an app store dedicated to Flatpaks, got its latest update, hitting version 0.6.3. This newest release mainly targets one specific bug: bringing back alphabetical sorting on the installed apps page.
Alongside this core fix, you'll now find a developer banner integrated into the interface. This makes it simpler than ever for users wanting to dive deeper into information about an app they're using.
Translation work continues its steady progress too; Vietnamese and French updates represent just two languages benefiting from recent efforts in addition to previous Polish translations mentioned earlier. Similarly, content completeness was addressed by adding missing translation files back to Bazaar's main potfiles, ensuring everything users interact with is properly available.
Another visual annoyance sorted out involves the featured carousel images; they should now display correctly even on screens that typically show things vertically (portrait-oriented devices). And for those keeping track of details, some minor margin adjustments smoothed out certain edges in how things look across Bazaar.
On a more functional note, touch support has been implemented for data graphs. This means you can now interact with visual information presented within the app using taps and gestures, which is a bit more intuitive overall. For system cleanup scenarios, there's also a new Leftover User Data page designed to help manage files associated with an application after it's been removed from your system.
The team didn't stop at just major features; language support got attention as well. The pt_BR translation was updated, and the Russian and French translations saw refinements too. For keeping track of application sources, Bazaar now uses Flathub bookmark counts instead of old-style repository start counts where applicable, potentially giving a clearer picture for users familiar with Flathub.
Under the hood, various smaller changes occurred to keep things running smoothly. This includes an update to polkit and some necessary cleanup work on internal processes. ARM support was added too, expanding compatibility further, while the Ukrainian translation got its second update during this release cycle itself, quite a turnaround!
Rounding out recent updates: The Turkish language file has been refreshed again for improved accuracy or context handling within the app's interface. There's also early-stage development work focusing on potentially reducing flatpak size if feasible down the line. And, as a new feature started recently, there might be some testing around having the development version show its special icon status automatically.
