Bazaar 0.6.0 released
Bazaar 0.6.0 has landed, an upgraded version of the app store specifically for Flatpaks. This isn't just a routine update; there are quite a few tangible improvements focused on making the experience smoother and more pleasant overall.
A big one is offline support, which allows users to view cached app details even when disconnected from the internet. For those with data plans where they're charged for usage, Bazaar smartly adds a manual sync option now and again, keeping things current without assuming constant connectivity.
Looking into the details, several developers have made significant improvements this time around. Lumaeris focused on refining translations, notably updating the Russian version to ensure everything reads naturally for those users. Meanwhile, Alexander Vanhee concentrated on UI and UX tweaks, such as creating better-looking statistics screens, improving mobile full-views, and developing a smoother startup animation that features a spinner.
Other noteworthy additions include tags on app detail pages (making filtering easier) and a dedicated "Other apps" section. Plus, the team has meticulously addressed various small issues known as papercuts that were impacting interaction with Flathub itself. On the accessibility front, TheEvilSkeleton's contributions have made Bazaar more welcoming for users with different needs.
While these changes are significant, they're all carefully tracked through the git log, providing a detailed history of exactly what was updated in this release.
As expected from the development team, regular refinements and enhancements to Bazaar will likely follow soon. This update just lays the groundwork for continued improvements.
