Additionally, the release fixes various bugs, including issues with syncing progress bars and displaying addon version numbers, while also improving error handling and translation support for different languages and locales.

Bazaar 0.5.10 released

Adam Masciola has released an updated version of Bazaar, the app store for installing Flatpaks. This latest iteration brings several noticeable enhancements focused on refining the overall user experience.

A key addition is a new preference called "hide-eol." Think of it as giving users more control; this option lets you choose to filter out applications that are near end-of-life or rely on outdated system runtimes, making your app collection cleaner and keeping things modern without chasing every single update. Despite its focus on filtering, this release of Bazaar also fixes several bugs.

For instance, this release ensures a smoother experience across the app by properly syncing the global progress bar theme with your personal settings. There's also a subtle but welcome change to the Addons dialog: version numbers are displayed next to addon names directly; it makes scanning easier and avoids awkward spacing between lines of text.

Other work has happened away from the user interface, too. Translation files have been updated multiple times, particularly those for Ukrainian by @Saltane and @AlexanderVanhee. This means better language coverage and support for Bazaar in more systems around the world than before. There's also a genuinely welcome update: after a long wait, the Italian translation provided by @pbluez is finally here.

On the user side, we've reworked the Installed page significantly. It now presents your apps' information clearly so you can navigate it without confusion. When issues arise while communicating with Flathub, error handling feels more robust than before, thanks to @AlexanderVanhee's contributions.

Finally, this update adds a dedicated "What's New" section near the top of Bazaar's window, a useful way to highlight recent improvements right at launch! It also brings EOL notices directly within applications for added context. And don't worry about apps with little statistical data anymore because we've refined how they're handled automatically.

As always, much of this work wouldn't have been possible without community contributions. This release includes fresh translations for Portuguese (pt_PT) and more; besides, it keeps the software relevant across diverse locales as it evolves.
