Archinstall 3.0.11 released
Arch Linux Installer, Archinstall, has reached a new milestone with the release of version 3.0.11.
This latest iteration introduces key changes that aim to enhance the user experience. A notable enhancement involves the way Archinstall handles DMI (Desktop Management Interface) information when it is not available in the system's sysfs directory. In such cases, the installer now elegantly returns an "undefined" status, providing clarity and transparency to users.
Furthermore, outdated links have been removed from the installation process to maintain accuracy and prevent potential confusion. Specifically, a link to a video demo of the installer was deleted to reflect the current state of the tooling.
In addition to these updates, Archinstall has also incorporated changes related to cryptography packages. The version of the cryptography package has been updated to 45.0.7, which is expected to provide improved security and functionality within the installed system.
Moreover, the release includes an important modification regarding F2FS (Flash-Friendly File System) parameters. Specifically, users are now required to specify 'extra_attr' when configuring F2FS settings. This change reflects ongoing development efforts aimed at refining Archinstall's capabilities and aligning with best practices in file system management.
Finally, version 3.0.11 of Archinstall also includes a quick fix that enables the installation of Archinstall while simultaneously activating systemd services. This update is designed to meet the recommendations made by the systemd team on how to utilize their tooling properly, resulting in a more streamlined and efficient user experience.
