SoL 16.00 has been released:

antitachyon is pleased to announce the release of Server optimized Linux - SoL 16.00. Server optimized Linux is an operating system free of charge and can be downloaded from various mirrors on the SoL website http://www.sol-linux.com. SoL 16.00 comes with most of the common server applications pre-installed in seperate directories to simplify and clarify version-updates. Furthermore antitachyon offers a remote update system for packages named SoLrus, which can already be used for SoL 16.00.

The release manager for sarge, Anthony 'aj' Towns has announced that he is about to allow the glibc from unstable into testing now that all of the new bugs have been fixed. He estimates this will allow some 800 binary packages to update immediately, and break php4 and possibly other packages on some architectures.

Klaus Knopper has published more details on the upcoming release of KNOPPIX 3.2:

On this years CeBit, Version 3.2 of KNOPPIX will be presented. Pressed CDs are available at the KNOPPIX/LinuxTag booth in hall 11, and at the booth of the c't magazine (Halle 5, Stand E38). ISO-Images will be available after CeBit on the official mirrors, shortly after CeBit.

- KDE 3.1 (woody release) from ktown.kde.org,
- Evolution 1.2.1
- OpenOffice 1.0.2 (german and english)
- KOffice 1.2.1

antitachyon is pleased to announce the release of SoL-diag 1.1.

SoL-diag is a diskless Linux operating system designed for rescue and analysis of i686 type computers. The 36MB image contains over 300 programs which can be used for education on Linux systems.

SoL-diag features linux-kernel 2.4.20 with almost all available kernel modules. With SoL-diag, watching DVD, listening to mp3s and burning CD-RWs is possible without installing Linux on your harddrive.

MandrakeSoft is preparing the second release candidate of Mandrake Linux 9.1. The release number in Mandrake Cooker has been already updated to 9.1 RC 2.

RC2 is the last release candidate before the final release, which is planned for mid-March.
