G System 0.5.0 BETA 2 has been released

The G System is a free and open source simulation framework and virtual reality. The framework provides network distributed operation, which allows for huge simulations.

The virtual reality created with the G System, called G Universe, focuses on evolution, thus creating a virtual, multi-user, evolving universe with both adventurous and scientific aspects.

This second BETA release, one week after the first, includes some bug fixes and numerous improvements over the first BETA release, including:

* G Universe Client initialisation fixed
* Full XMPP/Jabber Instant Messaging support (see below)
* Protocol improvements, corrections and many optimizations
* Smoother camera movement

hk_classes & knoda 0.7.4-test1 are now available:

I released a new test version of Knoda. With this release Knoda is the first KDE database frontend reading MS Access databases natively and is getting closer to its goal to be a full replacement for MS Access. Knoda is a database-frontend for KDE. Besides tables and queries Knoda comprises forms and reports, which are scriptable via Python.

DigikamImagePlugins 0.7.3-beta1 is out for your image correction pleasure with digiKam image editor and showfoto.

DigikamImagePlugins are a collection of plugins for digiKam 0.7.3 Image Editor and showfoto (digiKam stand alone image editor implementation). These plugins add new image treatment options like color management, filters, or special effects.

digiKam 0.7.3-beta1 is out for your image management pleasure.

digiKam is a digital photograph management application for KDE, which makes importing and organizing digital photos a "snap". The photos can be organized in albums which can be sorted chronologically, by directory layout or by custom collections. Additionally images can be tagged and these tagged images can be viewed in virtual albums.

An easy to use interface is provided that enables you to connect to your camera and preview, download and/or delete your images.

digiKam includes a fast Image Editor with a few advanced image editing tools. You can use the Image Editor to view your photographs and to make corrections and alterations. A stand alone version of image editor named ShowFoto is also available.

Note to packagers : showfoto program is independant of digiKam core. digiKam is only require during showfoto compilation, but shofoto program have none depency with digiKam.

The Kile developers are pleased to announce the availability of the first beta release of Kile 1.8. Kile is a LaTeX editor for the KDE desktop.

The most important changes are:
* QuickPreview: Compile and view a selection of your document. Very convenient if you want to preview a section, formula or paragraph of your document.
* UserHelp: Add help documents of your choice to the Help menu.
* 3 new wizards: Float, Math and Postscript Tools.
* Several bugfixes and cleanups.
