Hey, I recently got a laptop with ATI mobility radeon 9700, and want to install fedora core 3. When I try to start the installation process nothing happens - black screen. I suppose it is not suppored ? Any tips as to what I should do, or am I out of luck and must wait ?.

Hey all I just recently tried to install FC2 64 on an old hard drive of mine so I could play around and see what it was like, and the first problem is that whenever an X-Windows area needs to be open, the install freezes and the screen goes blank (doesn't power off but stays black).

Some USB mounting questions

I am able to mount my USB flash drive but I have to enter the line in the etc/fstab everytime, make the directory in the mnt directory, then the mount command. Is there a way to have this automatically done when I plug the USB drive in? It is a Lexar 256MB flash drive.

SIS 7012 works, but on play it frozes

Hi all I have a Silicon Integrated System SiS7012 sound card, in a SonyVaio grt100, and redhat 9, and my sound card is working, i can change the volume, and the speaker's too, but if i play a sound file it plays just the first second, and then it get's frozen.

This is a buggy hardware combo in under any OS. After much playing around with SaX2 in SuSE 9. 1 personal, I was able to get it working. If you have a similar situation, don't use the monitor buttons to move the picture after 3D is enable, use SaX2/geometry, save, then log out and back in or reboot like I do to cle ...

Need Help With Java Install

I just received my 6 disk set of Mandrake Linux PowerPack 10. 1 and did a clean install. Everything installed perfectly and all hardware was recognized. I couldn't be happier! And, I've finally picked up enough on Linux that configuring programs worked pretty well.

LG LCD monitor Incompatible with Suse 9.1 text mode?

I have a new LG L1716S LCD monitor. It works good with Windows, Dos, KDE mode of Suse 9. 1 and GRUB. But it can't be used in text mode of Suse 9. 1, even in installation too. Warning In put signal out of Range appearances on the Screen.
