Installing Win98SE on HD1 with LILO, XP, Mandrake+ already on HD0

Greetings! Using the convention of HD0 as the main drive where the system boots from, I have Lilo on the MBR with XP-Pro (using NTFS) on HD0-1,2,3, Mandrake on HD0-5,6,7,8, and Fedora Core 2 on HD0-9,10,11,12 this drive is 160 G.

Which distro can be configed the best?

Yoper inux is exelent. Gentoo is way to hard to config. i want a distro with apt-get, portage sax. those and im set. yoper lacks on laptops though. and when you update with apt-get yoper config doesnt work anymore.

Removing Swap Partition with Mandrake 10

I am running Mandrake 10. 0. I currently have 512M or RAM and am increasing RAM to 1 Gig. I notice that the swap is not really used and have read posts indicating that everything would probably run faster, if the Swap was removed.

Kernel 2.6.8.1 & Reiserfs

Anyone planning to update their kernel to 2. 6. 8 or 2. 6. 8. 1 should be aware that it 'will' trash your Reiserfs volumes. I've had this happen to me, and, I know of at least one other user who had the same happen to him.

Is it me, or does the display of mozilla 1. 4. 1 that came with my Fedora 1 look smoother - characters less pixellized? I'm sure of it! Somehow, the fonts are easier on the eyes. I installed mozilla 1.

I'm not a heavy Linux user but, of the distributions I've seen (Red Hat, Suse. . . not but a brief look at Mandrake) Yellow Dog does an excellent job with their Mac distribution! Worth a look if you have the hardware sitting around and are bored or frustrated one day! -overworked-.

I am trying to boot Fedora C2, but for some reason there is no xorg. conf fle to tell it what video and mouse settings to use. what would I type in Vim to create my own xorg. conf file. (I don't know the syntax) Help Please!.

Mandrake 10 beta 2 woes and fixes

I just installed Mandrake 10 on my secondary hard drive on a Soyo Dragon Platinum motherboard. Problem #1 - Highpoint raid After several fails on install (mkinitrd failed when installing the bootloader) I then fell on the issue with highpoint raid drivers on install.
