Is XFree86 still being developed?

Is XFree86 still being developed? Most distributions nowadays with the exception of Debian use X. org leading most to think that Xfree86 is dead. Is it still alive?.

Question about dual booting WinXp pro and Linux

if i want to keep xp on there but dualboot do i just run the linux install and it will create its own partitions or do i have to use partition magic to make partitions and then install linux

Ok i am very new to linux but i enjoy it very much, problem is this i have a logitech mouse and it doesnt want to work in the install of linux, i am running windows xp and i cant figure out a way to partition my harddrive in order to instal linux.

Linux Mandrake 10.1 installation problem

I'm trying to install mandrake 10. 1 however after USB detection it reports an error telling me It can't access the Mandrake installation disc. The computer is an Athlon 850 with 256mb ram, 20gb hard drive and a brand new BTC DVD rom on second IDE channel as a master.

Please help with WINE

I am new to Linux, and am currently trying to install WINE. I am running Fedora Core 1. I have tried installing WINE before, and it said it was installed, but nothing really happened afterwards. I put in a disk trying to install some games, but my computer didn't seem like it could recognize the files still.

Someone gave me a printer. . . and, its a paperweight. I figure that if I work at it a little every day, I can learn the basics of C programming in one year. Then, maybe I can tackle the challenge of writing a device driver for this printer.

hi I belive hav have just mounted my unused 30gig partion i use in windows and i beleve have mounted it as hda5 mount /dev/hda5 /mnt/hda5 it dosent say anything after just goes to another command line.

i using win XP and Red Hat 9 How can I uninstall Red Hat ? because i m facing with low storage now. . i use sata 80 gb. and make 4 partitions with dos. i try to format red hat partition but it not display in dos and i just see 3 partitions pls help me.
