Interesting Star Wars news

BladeRunner
Amongst the SPAM in my inbox today I came accross a link to a news story over at Empire magazine. They have some information from a small interview with Lucas. First part is nothing unexpected, but the second part is interesting.

FM Interference with my Altec Lansing 641's

Atreyu
Greetings everybody! I've just moved to a new apartment and I'm having a very frustrating problem. I can hear an FM radio station through my computer speakers whenever power to them is turned on. It's loud enough that I can tell what song is playing and even make out some of the DJ's sentences.

Bye Bye Privacy :(

Palos
I think this serves a higher purpose than to filter for keywords and accounts at different ISPs across the world. They know that it is virtually impossible to pinpoint a suspicious activity based on eavesdropping and log analysis, for the following reasons: - To anaylise all the info in realtime as they boast, then ...

W2K or XP?

areid
I'm just about to purchase a new laptop pc, but I'm torn between having W2K pro or XP pro as the pre-installed operating system. I already have W2K on my desktop pc and I am perfectly happy with it, but I am being pushed towards XP by the vendors.

ATA/100 vs ATA/133

DosFreak
We all know this (well most of us ) but here it is in writing: ATA133 should theoretically be 33% faster than ATA100, but my results basically didn't show much of an improvement at all. .

Know any good Win9x forums?

postitlord
Can anyone recommend a Windows 98SE forum? Or just a general Windows 9x forum would make me happy. I tried searching in Google, but results were mediocre. Either too low traffic to get responses, or too few members, or the forum itself was horridly setup with that 200 pixel margin wasting space on the left.

OK to write on CDs?

SnapperOne
Just bought a bulk pack of CD-Rs. Unlike the other packages we've purchased in the past, there is no matte-white finish on the non-read side of the CDs. Can we write directly on the CD with a broad-tip magic marker or similar pen without the matte finish? If no, what's the best way to protect the CDs surface so we ...
