If you haven't seen this thread over at , you might want to. Apparently, a senator is sponsering a bill that would, among other things, outlaw home-built PC's. 8) I seriously hope this is a joke, but read for yourselves and see.

Gator (aka GAIN software) are the lamers of the internet

I just want users to know and be aware of this awfull program which is created by lamers that should not have anything to do with the internet. Gator installs itself without asking in many apps and progs, even games, and all it does is bring up pop-ups while you're surfing.

Never going to buy a Canon again

Canon is the most lazy company i know. My printer is only a year or two old (BJC-5100) and this printer can only be used on the Windows operating systems, ie win9x, winme, win2k BUT NOT winXP. this really frustrates me.

Everyone talks about overclocking, what about noise?

Ok guyz, so many people overclocking crazy but no one mentions noise problems. I need a solution to the sound coming from my CPU Fan. its spinning at 7005 RPM usually so its pritty damn fast, its a great Fan but its so damn noisy, anybody have any suggestions on how to bring down the sound levels from the CPU fan? ...

I declare my IBM 60GXP 60 GB 7200 rpm DEAD. . . Around 20:37 CET on Feb 24,2002 the subject produced the so called click of death. Cause of death still unknown, but preliminary reports indicate massive surface damage due to tons of bad sectors appearing overnight.

Hi guyz, my cousins buying a new ASUS A7V266-E and 1800+ Athlon XP. Currently he has a Athlon Thunderbird 850Mhz with a Abit KT7A Motherborad and also a Intel P3 500Mhz with a Gigabyte motherboard with dual bios(don't know model).

The new geforce4TI 4600 agp has agp 8x , sounds cool enough. But what motherboards support 8x? I just bought a brand new asus a7v266-e and it only says 4x ? wtf ? will any new bios's enable the 8x ?.

Loud freaking noise in my PC

I suddenly come across a loud noise from the inside of my PC. It is really loud. It has happened before and usually goes away for some reason and then comes back after a few months, but right now it is really loud and quite annoying.

How to install Linux under Quantum Disk manager

Dear All, I have an extra machine I wish to set up as a Win2k Server / Suse Linux Multi-boot SERVER. Unfortunately, the Bios ONLY supports up to 8. 4GB, and the only way to utilize my 12GB drive would be to run it through the Quantum Disk Manager! Note: Even IF I set up the BIOS to use the drive as an 8.

Today i came home from IKEA and found my Athlon XP was off, i had left it on while i was out. Upon turning it on, no Fans spun(CPU Fan, Motherboard Fan and PSU Fan). I took out everything from the case and tried it now, still nothing.
