Defense of Via chipsets (or Via doesn't suck)

Brian Frank
I've been aware that Via has problems (you don't say. . . ) and some viscious opponents. Via's Apollo Pro 133/A is crap against the BX. Really? Let's see, at the time Intel offered two new chipsets for the Pentium III: the 810 and the 820.

Screw WinXP, I use...Lindows?

clutch
Check it out: Now this has my attention. I don't have the time nor inclination to fiddle with emulators in Linux, but if the OS is designed from the beginning to handle Windows apps, then I will definately try it out.

Anthrax Infested Topic....do not open !!!

Palos
Leaving aside the tragicomic sound of the subject line, I would like to know what you guys make out of the whole thing? Opinions of any kind are welcomed, the web should be a free speech environment, where if you protest against the airstrikes you won't get laid off by your employer (just read it on CNN yesterday).

What would you run instead of Windows?

Brian Frank
Well seeing as the Mac OS X can be run on the x86 platform, thanks to Unix, and Apple going to Open Source, things are looking a little more promising to realistically avoid using Windows. I am not making the Mac OS X thing up either.

Code Red, Code Red II, Nimda -- Maybe Osama?

Atreyu
It just occured to me that perhaps Osama and his cronies may be responsible for these viruses? It seems like a very good method of him trying to accomplish his goal. . . disrupting the economies of the world etc.
