Dual Booting with Boot Magic

I have two SATA (non-raid)HD's that I would like to setup to dual boot Fedora Core 6 and XP Pro. My partition layout is as follows Disk 1 FAT32 54. 9MB Primary Holds Boot Magic bootloader Disk 1 NTFS 41.

Removing FC 6

So I want to remove Fedora Core 6 and reinstall Windows XP Pro so that other people in my house can use it. The main issue here is that I can't seem to get rid of Grub, or I can't replace it with the Windows boot.

Slackware 11.0 fails to boot

Hi folks, Just finished installing Slackware 11. 0 from Slackware-11. 0 install DVD. On reboot by pressing ++ it failed to boot hanging on; GRUB Loading stage1. 5 GRUB Loading please wait Error 17 Pls advise how to fix the problem.

updating - what components best?

I'm about to update my old HP Pentium 900 with a new motherboard, graphics card, modem, and memory. I will be running Linux and XP (I do NOT want to to do Vista) probably Suse or Ubuntu. I would appreciate any advice about components that are most compatible.

Hi just after installing mandriva on my sony vaio fs515e it has 1. 7ghz celeron, 512ram, 80gb hdd, intel gma900 15. 4 more details on spec here: i keep gettin this error message when i try to type in startx data incomplete in file /etc/X11/xorg.

hey guys, so this is pretty ridiculous. i sometimes have problems with alsa recognizing my sound card (integrated into the mobo), so i decided somehow that it was a good idea to uninstall the fedora 6's alsa drivers.

Kubuntu only prints @PJL commands

I used KMenu> System Settings> Printers to set up my Brother hl1240 laser printer. I use the foomatic hl1250 (as recommended). I go through all the steps ok and it prints out what I thought was a test page during the setup wizard and I finish.

OK, here's a really strange problem. I just installed a new Radeon X1650 Pro card, and it works fine except one little glitch. In linux (Mandriva 2007), my monitor displays this box that says input not recognized that floats around the desktop.

Hi. I just installed redhat Linux es 3 on my compaq presario 4000 laptop, (i couldn't get anything else)and I've been trying to configure a lot of stuff (sound, power management, wine, java, etc). I was able to sound drivers, but I've been having problems with the make comand.

Audigy problem on Mandriva 2007

I recently bought a new Audigy Platinum eX sound card, and I only get a muffled sound from it. I have used an Audigy card with linux before without any problems, so I don't know why this one is different.

Dual boot problem of FC6 and XP Pro

I'm new to Linux world. I have 1 hard Maxtor 190 G drive. I have Win XP Pro on NTFS partition 1 (140 G). I installed FC 6 into the rest space on that drive. I chose XP Pro Fedora as the default boot.

Dual boot Ubuntu/Xp Pro problem

I used partition magic 8. 0 to create the partition for Ubuntu 6. 10 and the swap partition. Booting in to Linux works fine, but when I attempt to boot in to Xp using GRUB, I get an autocheck error and it fails to load Xp.

FC% Kernel Update Lost eth0

Fedora Core 5 just had a kernel update to 2. 6. 18-1. 2200. fc5. Following the update, I rebooted the system and get an eth0 error. During the boot, the system faults at determining IP information for eth0.
