mandrake 10.1 install error

New formatted 40G HD,256M sdram. Keep getting this error. . . The error is when i boot the cd with the help of floppy (the cd cannot be booted automatically even thought it is referred to the readme that it can be installed without floppy).

Type size on screen in Mandrakelinux Control Center

I am trying to add some software to my 10. 1 community installation and would like some information as to how to increase the size of the fonts. The type size can't be any bigger than 3 point the way it is currently displayed and I am too old to read 3 point type.

I installed mandrake and had the linux-secure option without choosing any server options. My mouse had problems that I couldnt fix so I installed mandrake again EXACTLY the same way and this time I dont have the linux-secure option.

Hi all, I am having difficulty setting up Samba on my rh 7. 3 and also w/ rh 8. 0 so that I can share it to the 2k system. And I have tried various howtos on the net and still can get it. Could someone please help! Thank you much in advance.

ok. . apologies for that last question. I have a SAMBA Server up and running. I am using RH 8. 0. I did use SWAT to configure all the options. I have added Samba Users with the user names from my W2K Professional box.

I just tried installing Vice City today with wine 20041019 and the loki installer. I couldnt start a new game as an error msg would pop up everytime i tried that so i got a saved game frm the net and it worked out.

What kind of hotswap kit to get?

Does anyone have any recommendations on what sort of hotswap kit to get for an existing tower server? The only requirements for it are that it be bottom mountable in a 5. 25 drive bay and that it is Serial ATA.

problem on installing my gigabyte pcx5300 display adaptor on mandrake linux 9.0

bold textitalic textI have a gigabyte pcx5300 pci express display adaptor which has a linux driver on its cd. My linux mandrake version is 9. 0 and it doesnt recognize the card with any nvidia chipsets.

If I install Linux and find I like it better than windows(Im sure I will because Windows blows), should I just delete the windows partition? Or would I have to delete all the partitions, reformat, and then install Linux to the whole hard drive.

I was told I could speed up my system a bit by installing a 8meg cashe HD and adding some more memory. I have both, but Im not exactaly sure how to install the memory. I was told after I installed the HD to just move the current memory over one slot and stick the new one in.
