Blender! and crashing.

Ok so I'm trying to do some 3d work now. I have xfree86 runnign with ati drivers. Now everything works fine. Except when I try to render the objects in a 3d view in blender(pushing letter d). The machine instantly freezes up and i get this.

Lose GRUB and boot from CD

Greetings. Although a noob to FC3, I recall booting RedHat from diskette and not installing any loaders. I've looked around and it seems you can't boot FC3 from diskette(?). So I want to make a bootable CD that will boot my kernal and leave Windoze out of it.

Some USB mounting questions

I am able to mount my USB flash drive but I have to enter the line in the etc/fstab everytime, make the directory in the mnt directory, then the mount command. Is there a way to have this automatically done when I plug the USB drive in? It is a Lexar 256MB flash drive.

Cant boot with GRUB! Help!

I installed Mandrake with no problems except for the graphics configuration. I didnt manage to get my monitor from the list and when i ran the test it didnt work so i decided to disable the graphical graphical interface and finished the installation.

Hi all I have a Silicon Integrated System SiS7012 sound card, in a SonyVaio grt100, and redhat 9, and my sound card is working, i can change the volume, and the speaker's too, but if i play a sound file it plays just the first second, and then it get's frozen.

So I've got a Sony PCG-SR17K that I refurbed and I'm giving Linux a try for the first time. I found with plenty of info from folk putting linux on this hardware. A trusty friend recommended Mandrake 10, so I've setup a dual boot with win 2k and Mandrake 10.

Removing an OS from the GRUB boot loader.

Hello everyone. I'm using Fedora Core 2 and updated the kernel with yum. When I reboot I notice an older version of the kernel is still showing in the boot screen. I would like to edit the boot options so only the updated build of Fedora is shown and also XP, that is set up to dual boot.

After spenting almost two months trying to figure out MD Linux 10. 1 to load, in the end still nothing works. I get one error message after another and now it's the partitions, the screen, the video card, the hard drive.

I have just installed MySQL and I am getting tired of having to type the full path name to start the server manually (/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe user=mysql). I thought I would add this path to my $PATH environment variable.

Fedora 2 Desktop won't initiate!

I am a fairly new Fedora2/ Linux user. . . So I don't know much about Linux, but my Fedora2 installation won't initiate the graphic interface desktop, like it should. I do not know why. Can anyone help? Thanks.

So, what's your fav? I prefer Fluxbox on systems I use all the time, and on systems with low resources (or VMs in VPC). I also use KDE on systems that I just need up and running quickly, and on VMs running in VMWare Workstation, and now on VMWare ESX Server in the lab.

This is a buggy hardware combo in under any OS. After much playing around with SaX2 in SuSE 9. 1 personal, I was able to get it working. If you have a similar situation, don't use the monitor buttons to move the picture after 3D is enable, use SaX2/geometry, save, then log out and back in or reboot like I do to cle ...
