ok I am not crapping on Linux because I have no used it yet other than some live cd of various distros I have played with. I have a question though that I believe a lot of windows users would ask if someone suggested that they switch.

Not recognising second processor

I have just installed Fedora Core 2 on a Compaq Proliant 1600 dual P II 300 server. All seemed to go well except that I dont appear to have the second processor recognised. Is there any definitive way that I can tell whether it is and if it isnt does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this.

I had Iconedit open and it went dead and opened 2 more windows, i wanna know how to terminate the program like hitting Crl+alt+del in windows, and selecting which program to terminate. Thanks in advanced for the help!!.

I just downloaded limewire for linux, but it has no readme file where i can see how i install it. It's a. bin file, i've just begun using linux, so i tried decompressing with tar -x but it does nothing.

My 3G 30G IPOD died last night......

Was surfing the net last night, I looked over at my IPOD and noticed that my display was blank. Took it out of it's cradle, tried to reset it but there was no display. Can't even go into diag mode because the Apple logo doesn't even show up.

Linux equivalent of Window's C:\Program Files

Hi Totally new to Linux. Just installed FC2. Whats the Linux equivalent of Window's C:\Program Files I want to install some apps but the default dir for some is the sam dir as the one where app was downloaded (desktop for example).

When i click on a link to something to download (for example. tar,. iso,. rpm,. bin) i cant download it i get this message: /tmp/30j0mzb3. gz counld not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
