Mandrake 10 installation problem

I've just tried to install mandrake 10 as a dual boot with XP pro. When I insert CD1 the Mandrake install page comes up. I click to install and the screen just goes dead, with nothing happening. I know that there's nothing wrong with the discs because they have been used successfully before.

For the longest time I have been debating whether or not to get a better set of speakers for my Sound Blaster Audigy 2, price is somewhat of a concern, however, I don't mind spending good money for a good high quality product, I just don't want to spend over $300 (CDN) so about $200 - 250 (US).

im running debian sarge and my dad wanted to set up a sharing point for a 56k internet connection there will be two windows machine anyone have a guide as how to go about this or software to help with this my main issue i think will be connecting the windows machines up distro debian sarge

PCI Express motherboards with S478 P4 support

Hey all, Does anyone know if any PCI Express motherboards will be coming out that can take a socket 478 Northwood Pentium 4 CPU and PC3200 (DDR400) Dimms? I've only ever seen ones that take the new LGA775 socket P4's.

I've tried using the GIMP, though its limited in its abilities and difficult to use. In Windows I've always used Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, which wont run under wine or CrossOverOffice (why the heck it needs IE installed for graphics software is beyond me!) I'm looking for some linux graphcs editing software with twain ...

Feature Request: Subscribe to thread

It would be a lot easier to follow discussions if one was able to subscribe to threads. The preferable option for me would be to get the notification by email. Another notification-option is to use something similar as , where one can see the subscribed-threads that have been replied to since last visit.

Intel 845 (refresh rate)

Hi, I recently installed Mandrake 10. 0 and everything went well, I only have a small problem with my graphics driver, I put my resolution on 1024x768 85Hertz but the image is not stable. (it is flickering) Does anybody know how to fix this? (Dell Dimension 2400 with a Intel 845 graphics adapter) thanks,.

Hi! I'm thinking about trying out some gnu/linuxdistros for audio and videowork and want some advice upon choosing distro and maybe also supporting programs to download. First it should be a fresh complement to windows and take the workload off some stuff.

I think is something we discuss sence lots of stress is dangerus to your health. Somehow caffine seems to help alot on the stess(I try to keep a tin of penguin mints onhand as often as I can). .

how to config the sound card in the mandrake 10.0

I have a HP pavillion 3340 and i installed the linux mandrake 10. 0 in my computer. Its all fine with exception of the sound system that doesnt work. When the computer boot the mute section activate and i cant hear nothing, cds, programs, games, nothing! Thanks for your attention.
