I want to play 3D games on my linux box and im guessing that i need to install the latest nvidia drivers but i see that the installation of the drivers is quite difficult. Does anybody noe n easier way to install the drivers like perhaps an RPM or something?.

Mandrake Install

Hi, I am new to Linux and tried to install mandrake 10. The problem is that the installation keeps freezing at various stage of installation. That ranges from formatting to entering root login(which is the farthest I got) Initially I was trying 10CE, and last night figured i'll try to do a network install.

I've recently installed Mandrake 9. 2 on my main machine, however every so often everything just freezes and the only way out is to hit the reset button!!! I've been trying out Mandrake lately and found it to be easier than I thought/hoped and would very much like to make the complete move to linux. Thanks to a lot of linux sites (including this one) I have almost found a linux application that replaces the one I use on Windows XP - but I am missing a few.

how to do a clean up of hard disk?

I ve been experiencing a helluva problems with my com and i suspect its because of my hard disk corrupted. Does anybody know how i can totally clean up my hard disk to its original state or any software that might do this?.

I am having a problem installing linux on my laptop. I need to find out which drivers to use for the nVidia GoFX5600dont think they are the same. Any help would be appreciated-have been to many sites and no luck-laptop is Alienware and nobody seems to have that much info on these.

Hi, I am very new to linux, so I know extremely little. I just installed linux for the first time, and chose fedora core 1. It all went well, but I dont know how to setup an internet connnection. I am on a LAN, so I think it should be fairly simple, Id appreciate any help.

Ok I am really confused, I boot to the cd and want to do a ftp install, which choice do I choose and then when i have made that choice, before I hit enter I type in the ftp dir? -Bill
