Well, I finally got pissed at my old crap mozilla so i decdied time for upgrade. . . got hte new 1. 6. . . it instaleld to usr/local/mozilla. . . so, i delete the folder for my old mozilla(1. 4. 1) which was at like /usr/lib/mozilla and mozilla1.

OK, I'm a total newbie here. I have no idea what I have done. So far, I have installed Linux (Mandrake 9. 2) by following my teacher's instructions. He suggestd we install it because it's a C programing/unix class.

Swap file not being used

Just new to Linux, loaded Mandrake 9. 2 successfully, but system runs very slowly. The KDE monitor shows the swap usage as zero at all times, and shows RAM nearly full (256 MB). Yet on initialization and termination, Swap is listed as being started and stopped, and is present on the hard drive configuration.

i was wondering if there is a way for linux to be able to write to an ntfs partition or am i fighting a lost cause as i want to share files between windows and linux, and i dont really want to have a fat partition on my pc if i can help it.
