Cable service speed-testing - informative?

Are on-line cable speed tests reasonably informative? I read an opinion written in 2000 or 2001 that cable speed tests, especially under Internet Explorer, in no way represent even the general level of service being delivered by a cable-service provider.

What is the diff between draken or demien or whatever it is called it like mod for linux and redhat. I am buying redhat today I think can't DL 56k so whas the diff. Which one is better I'd like a harder one for leanring make it more challenging.

So apple released their 30 GB ipod, ok I can conceive that someone possibly has 30 GB of music. Now, creative is releasing a 60GB. Seriuosly, who has 16,000 mp3s. I have probably less then 4,000 half of which are concert recordings.

XPlus - Express plus Email Client - Anyone used or heard of?

Hey all, has anyone used of heard of this email client - if so, thoughts? one of our employee's forwarded me their site asking about it - personalyl i said there are other clients to use like Opera and other likely better ones that have been out for a while and are an alternative to Outlook Express.

RedHat 9 and KDE desktop sharing not working

I have a brand new installation of Red Hat 9. I tried to run Desktop Sharing in KDE Control Center (Internet & Network) and got the error message: ¨There was an error loading the module¨ It also showed a details option that was saying: Library files for ¨libkcm_krfb.

Running a xlr or xls file in redhat 9

How do I get xlr and xls files to open in redhat 9 I can run the xls off of a disc but not the xlr. Neither of them will open after I saved them to a folder. I get the following message. Nautilus has no installed veiwer capible of displaying filename.

Problems with qt in Slackware 9.0

Hi! I've compiled qt from sources and when I install it I don't have the new styles like Keramik. The procedure is: 1 - Remove the original qt 2- run qt. Slackbuild 3- installpkg qt-3. 1. 2. . . but if I remove the new package and replace with the old one everything goes right, What's wrong? Thanks for Help!.

So do you all think this will be successful? I think when it finally gets ported to windows I will use it. You have a guarantee of quality and of download speed plus the ability to preview. I don't download all that much anymore but I think I will use it when I do.

I don't know if you all have seen this or not but a Federal Judge ruled that software companies who provide file sharing apps are not responsible for illegally trading of copyright material. This is a huge blow to the music industry.

I am looking for a sub $200 flash mp3 player with at lest 256 MB memory. Does anyone have one that they can recommend? I am considering the iRiver IFP-190T but it hasn't sold me yet. The only place that I have found reviews of a large number of mp3 players is on CNET.
