I just finished installing the new updated nvidia drivers for Mandrake 9. 1 and all I have to say is this. . . DAMN! For once in 14 times trying to get these dang things to work, this worked right off the bat.

Red Hat 8.0 Firewall woes

I just installed RHL 8. 0 on a crappy old box. I intend to use it as a gateway and webserver and didn't install X. It doesn't have much RAM anyway. So, when I installed it, I selected the medium firewall setting, which apparently blocks all ports through 1023 and two more.

I remember being on the BBSs and some of them would have text internet and Gopher. This was back in 1990, or earlier, i think. I was on AOL since 1. 0 (still have the floppy disk today)connecting @ 2400bps.

hey guy's i installed/ suse8. 0 i went in check my cd-roms and there part of wrench showing on them and theres a red x on the other also it has my sony burner down three times the other cdrom is there with a check beside it iy working.

From what I remember, Win2K/XP can format an NTFS partition natively at boot time, and doesn't need to be formatted in FAT first, and then converted (as was the case with NT4). If this were true, the boot-time partition setup would have a much smaller cap on it.

RedHat 9. 1, 168 hours to go. . . Oddly enough, about a weeks time to download. . . FTP on RedHat is even worse, why release it if theres no mirrors, this isnt an advantage, its frustration. I got 90 megs in on one disk using FlashGet and it stopped.

hello, i'll keep this short and sweet, how do i add the nvidia ethernet port to the device list in redhat 8. 0? i don't see nvidia listed, and i tried by chipset number 'realtek 8201bl' but i only see up to the 8100-series listed.
