Maxtor Fireball 3 hard disk

Hello, I had a Maxtor Fireball 3 hard disk running well for approximately 3 moths installed with SuSE 8. 1 and, in the past week, I could notice the system was hanging every 20-30 seconds and dmesg displayed a time out error and IDE0 was being successfully reset several times.

How do you put icons back on the desk top screen I deleted the cdrom icon by mistake now I can't even find it in the menu's anywhere. Does mandrake suck to set up or is just me :x.

(I asked this in the general pub but thought about it and think it should be here) I have an old Compaq Deskpro with a P100, 64MB of ram a 1GB hard drive, 16 MB video Card and I am running windows 98 on it right now (very slowly).

OK, silly question time. If I go into my PM's I have both an Outbox and Sentbox. What is the difference? I notice that some of the messages I've sent appear in the outbox and others in the sentbox. What is the difference?.

I hate to start my membership here with asking advice, but I have browsed for hours the almighty google to no avail. The problem is that USB devices freeze up the system. I have a USB 2. 0 (buslink) harddrive, and a belkin USB 2.

ok i believe i have set it all up correctly but ab getting this error message There was no recipient or an invalid recipient specified in the data sent to FormMail. Please make sure you have filled in the recipient form field with an e-mail address that has been configured in @recipients.

Ok I finally got my mandrake 9 installed But i can't log on when i get to the part were it wants a login and password it won't go past that screen. I type in Root for a login and the my password but it says login incorrect any ideas.

Hi Linux Guru's I just installed Tiger (part of TAMU) and it seemed to install without any problems but I can't get it to run the audit script. /tiger - I am running Redhat 8. 0 and here's what I did.

I managed to get Mandrake 9. 0 installed again and got the same PCI resource collision error and as a result couldn't see my IDE devices on the ICH4 controller. I could use the promise controller for the install and that is what I did.
