The following updates has been released for Debian 7 LTS:

[DLA 1011-1] sudo security update
[DLA 1012-1] puppet security update

[DLA 1011-1] sudo security update

Package : sudo
Version : 1.8.5p2-1+nmu3+deb7u4
CVE ID : CVE-2017-1000368
Debian Bug : 863897

Todd Miller's sudo version 1.8.20p1 and earlier is vulnerable to an
input validation (embedded newlines) in the get_process_ttyname()
function resulting in information disclosure and command execution.

The previous announcement (DLA-970-1) was about a similar security
issue (CVE-2017-1000367) which wasn't completely fixed.

For Debian 7 "Wheezy", these problems have been fixed in version
1.8.5p2-1+nmu3+deb7u4.

We recommend that you upgrade your sudo packages.

[DLA 1012-1] puppet security update

Package : puppet
Version : 2.7.23-1~deb7u4
CVE ID : CVE-2017-2295
Debian Bug : 863212

Versions of Puppet prior to 4.10.1 will deserialize data off the wire
(from the agent to the server, in this case) with a attacker-specified
format. This could be used to force YAML deserialization in an unsafe
manner, which would lead to remote code execution.

For Debian 7 "Wheezy", these problems have been fixed in version
2.7.23-1~deb7u4, by enabling PSON serialization on clients and refusing
non-PSON formats on the server.

We recommend that you upgrade your puppet packages. Make sure you
update all your clients before you update the server otherwise older
clients won't be able to connect to the server.
