ppcnerds.org took a quick look at Kubuntu 5.04 Live CD
Kubuntu 5.04 comes with Kde 3.4.0 and a 2.6.10 kernel. It booted just fine on this ATI-based iBook: in the same ncurses style used by the Ubuntu ufficial LiveCD, you are prompted for few questions regarding localization and keyboard layout. After that everything goes on automatically and the xserver (X.org) and kde are loaded.
