Consilient Announces BlackBerry Enterprise Server Connectivity for Cyrus IMAP

(St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada – July 26.05) – Consilient® today launched software that provides complete BlackBerry® email connectivity to the Cyrus IMAP Server. Cyrus users can now use any BlackBerry Wireless Handheld and access push email from their messaging platform. For Cyrus users with Oracle Calendar, Consilient2 also supports wireless calendar on BlackBerry in conjunction with push email.

Consilient2 software is the only wireless email solution approved by Research In Motion® (RIM) to extend IMAP4 messaging platforms to BlackBerry using the native BlackBerry handheld client.

Consilient2 leverages the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, enabling native BlackBerry features to be used with the Cyrus IMAP Server. With Consilient2, Cyrus users have complete, secure access to Mobile Data Service (MDS) capabilities and to the more than 70 different IT policies associated with BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Consilient2 features include:
- Wireless push email
- Wireless access to Oracle Calendar
- Triple DES encryption (FIPS certified)
- Native BlackBerry client
- Any BlackBerry Wireless Handheld
- Attachment support

“Demand for BlackBerry is growing among universities and post-secondary institutions where open source email platforms are popular,” said Trevor Adey, Consilient CEO. “We are pleased to bring BlackBerry connectivity to the Cyrus email platform with Consilient2 software. Cyrus users can now experience true BlackBerry and leverage all the benefits of wireless push email,” Adey added.

Cyrus users can also take advantage of Consilient’s BlackBerry Training Services. Consilient offers training courses for system administrators and BlackBerry handheld users. BlackBerry training courses are open to organizations using Cyrus, MS Exchange, Novell GroupWise, IBM Lotus Domino, Oracle Collaboration Suite, Sun Messaging or any IMAP4 server.
