I am a newbie to linux and having problems when installing mandrake 10 official to my travelmate 230. I can't configure my graphic ending to a blank screen.

It installed 9.04 but was painfully slow. Tried to updgrade to 9.10 but wouldn't boot at all. Tried couple of other distros including PCLinos and these wouldn't work either. Seems to be a from graphic issue primarily. No distro seems to work in live CD mode either.
