openSUSE 10.2 Beta 2 has been released:

I'm glad to announce the second beta of openSUSE 10.2 codename Basilisk Lizard. It contains a large number of enhancements and updates done by the open source community and Novell's development teams.

We have fixed most of the annoying bugs of Beta1. I'm gratefull for a localized product and like to thanks especially the many volunteers that did the translations. Some of them came in too late to add them to Beta2.

We have created again Delta ISOs from the DVD and CDs of Beta. Please use them for download and use bittorrent.

Call for Testing
================
For openSUSE Beta 2 we updated to OpenSync 0.20 and would ask for some testing by the community. We have prepared some testcases for specific mobile devices, like mobile phones which synchronize with SyncML, IrMC and other protocols. The testcases also include simple connection tests for Palm Devices. We would really appreciate any help and hopefully many success reports

I also like to ask you to test especially the following areas and
report - as usual - bugs against them:
- bluetooth: openSUSE 10.2 contains a new bluetooth stack
- xen:
- powermanagement: Powermanagement has been completly rewritten for
10.2, with Beta2 kpowersave is working again.
- Firefox: We're using Firefox 2.0 now
- OpenOffice.org: Version 2.0.4 is the current version and is
available natively in 64-bit for x86-64. Please test it on all systems.

========================

* suseplugger crashes directly Bug #219356
* After installation, grub stops at the menu screen and does not use
the graphical menu Bug #219409
* registration may incorrectly require to run a browser (but misses
package for that) Bug #219354
* syslog-ng is not starting if AppArmor is running Bug #219583
* suspend to disk does not resume but boot directly. Bug #219629.
We're testing our update stack with an update of the suspend package
to fix this problem.

http://bugs.opensuse.org, discussion is most appropriate on the
opensuse-factory@xxxxxxxxxxxx mailing list.

openSUSE 10.2 Beta2 comes in different medias:
* 5 CDs, you need CDs 1-3 for a normal installation with just GNOME or
KDE (any language)
* 1 AddOn CD with only binary packages on it
* 1 AddOn CD with language packages that are used for our tier 2
languages (tier 1 languages are english, french, italian, spanish,
brasilian portugese, german, chinese, japanese and czech - and
support for those is on the standard 5 CDs) (the 5 CDs have support
for installation in all translated languages, just extra packages
are only on this extra media)
* 1 DVD containing the contents of the above 7 media
* a FTP tree with open source packages (only for the final version,
for now use the factory tree)
* a FTP tree with binary packages (only for the final version, for now
use the factory-extra tree)
