Since increasing numbers of ISVs are delivering products in consolidated environments, this paper focuses on comparing the partitioning capabilities and related technologies of iSeries and pSeries systems with Linux. The server systems described in this article run current operating system releases AIX 5L Release 5.2 and OS/400 V5R2 in addition to Linux. The advantages of using Linux in conjunction with this other software will be discussed.
