2003-12-19
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Name : sed
Version : 4.0.8
Release : 2
Summary : A GNU stream text editor.
Description :
The sed (Stream EDitor) editor is a stream or batch (non-interactive) editor. Sed takes text as input, performs an operation or set of operations on the text and outputs the modified text. The operations that sed performs (substitutions, deletions, insertions, etc.) can be specified in a script file or from the command line.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:

Sed in Fedora Core 1 (and earlier distributions) was not using fastmap for regular expressions. Fastmap can speed up regular expression searching a lot, in some cases as much as 10 times.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

* Fri Nov 14 2003 Jakub Jelinek 4.0.8-2

- enable --without-included-regex again
- use fastmap for regex searching
