The Inquirer posted a story that Amazon has opened its Appstore in the UK and is offering subscribers access to one free mobile application a day.

mazon offers users a free app a day and on launch it was Angry Birds. The range and prices of games are comparable to other stores and Angry Birds, which has now reverted back to being paid for, costs 63p for the ad free version.

Amazon is predictably excited at its launch, which follows the availability of its cloud storage system in Europe earlier this week and comes in advance of a big announcement that's due on 6 September.
