I am relatively new to Linux and would like to install it on my laptop, which I use to make music.

I am having problems installing Fedora Core 4 in graphical mode. I inserted install disc 1 and proceeded to load the graphical installation mode. After this, the install program began to boot, but froze up. The screens colours were all wonky. The installation didn't go any further--not that I could tell.

The specs for my computer are as follows:

SOTEC 3000 series laptop
1.2 GHz
224 MB of RAM
LCD monitor on SiS 630/730 display adapters

Any help would be much appreciated. I can provide additional relevant information.
