A press release from MicroWorld Technologies Inc:

MailScan for Linux, the real time antivirus and content security software for Linux based servers rocks the market.

Michigan, 15th June 2004, MicroWorld Technologies Inc. (MWTI) announced the launch of its high end Internet security solution for Linux users. The new product from MicroWorld, MailScan for Linux will ensure that Linux users do not fall prey to the malicious intentions of those trying to catch hold of the reins of Internet World.

The new highly advanced software from MicroWorld will not only perform the scanning of all your incoming and outgoing SMTP/POP3 e-mails for viruses and spam but also all the attachments at the gateway level itself ensuring that not even a single bad content is delivered to the user’s mailbox. The software also has the intelligence to look into the compressed attachments and block the whole attachment even if a single file is found to be suspicious. This feature makes the software capable of fighting the wildest attacks like MyDoom and Bagle. As an advancement and precautionary measure the software has been developed in a manner to scan the attachment even if the files have been doubly zipped.

The antispam feature of the software ensures that no irritating advertisements or e-mails from pre-specified e-mail addresses are delivered to the user’s mailbox. All e-mails considered to be spam by the system are marked spam and delivered to the specific folder so that the user can read through these e-mails at his convenience and does not loose any important information.

“The number of big organizations with thousands of mailboxes on a Linux based server is growing at a phenomenal rate. It is not possible to keep a check on every single mail box manually while just a single mail box may lead to the infection of the whole system”, said Govind Rammurthy, CEO and MD, MWTI. “The software has been developed such that the administrator gets an extensive report on all security breaches and can take appropriate action immediately”, he further said. “This ensures that not even a single unchecked, compromised mail goes into the network without the knowledge of the system administrator”, said Govind.

“Linux based systems are becoming the obvious choice of the computer users and hence Linux is grabbing its own share of Internet attacks. We have been getting continuous demands from the customers to release MailScan compatible to Linux platform also”, said Sunil Kriplani, V.P. (International Sales and Marketing), MWTI. “We are very excited to be one of the very few companies offering security solutions for Linux based servers. This product is expected to show a remarkable pick up amongst the ISPs”, he said. “The software is available from our web site http://www.mwti.net, at a very special introductory price.”, said Sunil.

MicroWorld is well equipped with its technical support team to offer 24 X 7 customer service through telephone, chat and e-mails. The support department can be reached at +91-22-2826 5701, alternatively you can write to support@mwti.net or chat at eScanchat@mwti.net, eScanchat@yahoo.com, eScanchat@hotmail.com
