Oracle has handed OpenOffice to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), bringing its involvement in the open source productivity suite community to an end

Founding member Charles Schulz told V3.co.uk that he was disappointed with Oracle's decision.
"We respect the ASF but this is a missed opportunity to close the loop with the Document Foundation," he said.
"We would have preferred Oracle to give what is left of OpenOffice to the Document Foundation and put an end to the story."
Schulz explained that he had doubts whether the ASF had enough resources and developers to drive the OpenOffice project forward. LibreOffice currently has 200 developers working on the suite, he added.
