Lubuntu 14.04 will soon have some updates available in the staging PPA in addition to the official repositories.

From Muktware:
Good news for Lubuntu users! The discussion on updates and fixes for 14.04 LTS has started. Lubuntu lead developer Julien Lavergne updated the post-14.04 release plans in the lubuntu-users mailing list. He mentioned that he is happy with the positive feedback on the release in the mailing list as well as the Facebook page. He also thanked everyone who contributed to this LTS as well as the previous ones for their hardwork.

He detailed the plan for the Lubuntu 14.04 LTS release going forward. Being an LTS, the Lubuntu team will support it for LXDE packages and Lubuntu-specific packages on the ISO for 3 years. The components common with Ubuntu e.g. the kernel, will be supported for 5 years. He also advised Lubuntu users to migrate to 14.04 as going forward this release will get the maximum focus with respect to support and any work on the support will be available as updates for this release. There are still a few bugs left to fix and the team is working on those.
