GNOME 2.6 Ready to hit unstable/testing

Debian Planet reports that GNOME 2.6 is ready for Debian SID (unstable)
Jordi Mallach and the Debian GNOME Team believe that the quality of the Debian packages for 2.6 has reached a point where the packages should at least enter unstable, and possibly be allowed to migrate to testing. Theoretically sarge could be released with GNOME 2.6.
