Emu Software to Sponsor Red Hat Summit 2006

A press release from Emu Software:

Company to Demonstrate New NetDirector Interface to Red Hat Network

Cary, NC – May 17, 2006 – Emu Software, a commercial open source configuration management vendor and sponsor of the Second Annual Red Hat Summit, will use the Summit to unveil the soon-to-be-released Red Hat Network (RHN) module for their NetDirector product. The module provides seamless integration between RHN's patching and provisioning and NetDirector's multi-server configuration management capabilities.

Using the systems together, IT Managers and Systems Administrators benefit from a single point of entry for patching, provisioning and making granular configuration changes to individual and user-defined groups of Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.

The NetDirector RHN module also provides airtight segregation of duties through its strict role-based permissions. This ensures that when a user accesses the system, they only see, and can only administer, the specific servers and services to which they have been granted permission.

NetDirector is an extensible open source framework for the management of network applications running on Linux, Solaris and other Unix platforms. The product is licensed under the NetDirector Public license which allows for both open source and proprietary developers to extend the system's functionality. Emu Software provides customization and development services as well as support subscriptions for NetDirector.

"We are looking forward to interacting with Red Hat users and developers at the Summit," said Paul Unbehagen, Emu Software co-founder and CTO. "We feel our NetDirector technology is a great compliment to Red Hat Network patching and provisioning capabilities and the Summit is the ideal venue to launch this new capability and get first-hand feedback on it."

The industry's premiere open source knowledge exchange, Red Hat Summit 2006 is expected to draw current and future Red Hat customers and partners from around the world. Red Hat Summit 2006 will feature a variety of well-known industry speakers, hands-on technical workshops, a technology lab, round table discussions and product demonstrations, as well as sessions geared toward key open source issues and technologies, including security, virtualization and storage.

For those parties interested in participating in the beta program for the NetDirector Red Hat Network management module they may contact beta@emusoftware.com. For resellers and systems integrators should contact partners@emusoftware.com to be involved in the product rollout.
