A press release from CodeWeavers:

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA -- (May 11, 2004) -- CodeWeavers, Inc., the leading Windows®-to-Linux® software developer, today announced a major new alignment of its CrossOver line of products to better meet the needs of individuals and enterprises wishing to run Windows applications under the Linux operating system. Among the moves announced today are:

- The debut of CrossOver OfficeTM 3.0, featuring support for over 30 of the most popular Windows applications. In addition to its traditional support for Microsoft Office, Visio, and Internet Explorer, Intuit Quicken, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash, and others, CrossOver Office 3.0 offers new Linux support for Lotus Notes 6.51, Microsoft Outlook XP, and Microsoft Project;

- The creation of CrossOver Office Standard, a new home version of CrossOver Office. Priced at just $39.95, CrossOver Office Standard runs all the same Windows applications as the traditional CrossOver Office product, now known as CrossOver Office Professional; and

- The direct integration of CrossOver PluginTM, CodeWeavers' browser plug-in application, into all CrossOver Office products.

"CrossOver Office continues to be the most innovative Windows-to-Linux solution in the world," said Jeremy White, CEO of CodeWeavers. "CrossOver offers the cleanest, most intuitive integration with a Linux PC of any product on the market. With today's announcements, we're giving our customers more of what they've been asking for. Corporate users will get the robust, fully-featured product they need to conquer the transition to the Linux desktop. CrossOver Office Standard, meanwhile, allows home users and enthusiasts to now make that same journey at a price that's in line with their individual budgets."

Support Comes Standard

Included in CrossOver Office Standard is six months free technical support (installation and limited product support only) and free upgrades for six months. Effective immediately, all multi-license CrossOver Office customers are automatically upgraded to CrossOver Office Professional status; these customers receive free product upgrades for 12 months plus 12 months of Level Two support. CrossOver Office Professional customers with 100 or more seat licenses receive 12 months of Level One support along with limited defect resolution.

CrossOver Plugin Discontinued

Included in today's moves is the integration of CrossOver PluginTM, CodeWeavers' browser plug-in application, into all CrossOver Office products. CrossOver Plugin will no longer be available as a standalone product; however, every Plugin customer will be upgraded to CrossOver Office Standard, while those with volume licenses will be made into CrossOver Office Professional customers. Upgrades are free from CodeWeavers' corporate website www.codeweavers.com.

Pricing, Discounts

CrossOver Office 3.0 Standard is now shipping and carries a price of $39.95. CrossOver Office 3.0 Professional, also currently available, is priced at $74.95, with volume discounts available. Pricing for CrossOver Office Server Edition, the product's thin client product, has also been lowered to $695 (not including client licenses). For education customers, CodeWeavers has made CrossOver Office 3.0 Professional and CrossOver Office Server Edition even more attractive by increasing the 20% Education Discounts to 30%.
