Alpha release of CentOS-4 Beta
Posted by Philipp Esselbach on: 12/14/2004 06:38 PM [ Print | 0 comment(s) ]
An early alpha release of CentOS-4 is available for testing
This is to announce an internal testing version of the beta for CentOS-4
- i386 arch only at the moment.
Please check it out and post any problems to bugzilla.
It is intended that the beta will be made public within a few days once any issues have been ironed out.
This build has been put together by Johnny Hughes, who I would like to formally welcome as a member of the CentOS team.
I am sure that he will post to the list a summary of changes made and build details
The build is available at :-
http://c4beta.caosity.org/centos/4.0beta/
although you wont be able to download isos from there but will need to use rsync :-
rsync c4beta.caosity.org::centos-4beta/isos
You will need to modify yum.conf to run this pre-release beta , by changing the repo source to c4beta.caosity.org.
(c4beta will be removed from dns once this release is made public, so you will need to change back then).
