CompatDB.org now with Windows 8 Support and more
Posted on: 09/15/2011 10:18 AM

I just updated the CompatDB.org specification to support the following new operating systems: Windows 8, Windows 8 (x86_64), Windows Server 8 (x86_64), Arch Linux, Linux Mint, Sabayon, and Scientific Linux. Please contribute to the compatibility lists by submitting reports of your (in)compatible hardware/software to the database.

The CompatDB.org project is an attempt to create free hardware/software compatibility lists for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. The provided compatibility lists as well the XML-based CompatDB.org document format are licensed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) and can be used in both open source and commercial projects for free.
