It seems that the USB communication to this printer does not work. Alone lsusb does not work with it, and dmesg tells me something like "control timeout on ep0in" But this printer is also not listed on HPs compatibility page: http://hpinkjet.sourceforge.net/productslj.php\

Updating the drivers requires use of the command line. Good info in Linspire.com forums. The drivers work but not near as well as in WxxdowsXP. I have not been able to update the drivers in RedHat as of yet but am new to that OS. As far as I know the capture on the card is nonexistent.

Linspire 5.0 The Optra S 2455 was not listed when I ran the add printer wizard in cups. I found the *.ppd file on my WxxdowsXP system and copied it into the /usr/share/cups/model folder on my Linspire system and it showed up and worked like a champ. Auto paper select with two paper trays. Networked through an ethernet switch. Duplex option works. Responds faster than on WxxdowsXP.
