Submitted by lykwydchykyn on 2005-12-27 12:19:45 This product has a rating of 2 out of 5 running under MEPIS Linux Comments: Could not get this camera working right using the USB connection (haven't got a docking station to try) on Mepis Linux 3.4.2. I'm using the latest gphoto2 and libgphoto2 (currently 2.16-6) from the debian repos. When connected, the camera will sometimes connect and download thumbnails, but it will not allow me to download the photos themselves. I tried it under gtkam, digiKam, and gphoto2. At the terminal, I get a response something like this: "ptp error, response expected" (exact wording may be a little different). I've tried to fix this problem with some of the setup instructions on the gphoto site but had no luck. It worked one time, but I couldn't get it working again. Hope this gets fixed soon, I think this will likely be a popular camera! |
