Received the follow messages: 1) Mine was packaged as the Genius Soundmaker 64 but it's a standard Aureal AU8820 PCI card, default Win2k drivers worked fine, Aureal has beta drivers availible but they are really hard to install only add the 3D sound demos http://www.a3d.com/newa3d/download/drivers.asp?which=Vortex1&platform=win2000&type=full  2) The Microsoft WDM drivers included on the CD result in no audible sounds. Installing Aureal's beta drivers results in the same thing. However, this is because the main driver file, ADM8820.DLL is protected by Windows 2000's DLLCACHE. To fix this, install the new drivers, and then boot into safe mode. Delete C:WINNTSystem32DllCacheadm8820.dll, C:WINNTSystem32DllCacheadmjoy.dll, C:WINNTSystem32Driversadm8820.dll, and C:WINNTSystem32Driversadmjoy.dll Then copy adm8820.dll and admjoy.dll from the Aureal drivers, into C:/WINNT/System32/Drivers Upon reboot you should have sound! 3) Win2K drivers now available. A bit fiddly to install - follow instructions on website. Get "Can't open DLL" error if logging on as a Restricted User (Power Users are OK) but doesn't affect functioning. www.vortexofsound.com
