Received the follow messages: 1) Works great on my AMD 1.2 AV7133 bios 1006 WinXP 2505 Elsa Geforce 2 GTS 2) Works perfect in both RC1 and RC2 3) Works perfectly on Windows XP RC1. P3 800 mhz, 512 MB PC133 Ram, 64 MB Geforce 2 GTS, SB Live 5.1. 4) Worked fine for sometime but with the 1.02 patch + no-cd crack it started crashing in the map where you chase the Cogniti guy. 5) upgraded to XP. max payne ran slowly and took an eternity to load each new level. A simple re-install sorted it out coz (as the box says) it supports W2000 and so just needed to recognise the NT 'base'.

Received the follow messages: 1) Works great. Started up fine right our of the CD no patches or anything :) Running Win2k SP2 with Geforce 2 MX. 2) works perfect. 3) Runs beautifully on my 1.2GHZ Athlon with 512MB PC133, an IWill KK266, Winfast GF2 Pro 64MB. I am running it at 1200x1600x32 silky smooth. My W2K is SP2. The video drivers are nVidia reference 12.41 WHQL. Also, the latest VIA 4-in-1 is installed. 4) Awesome on my PIII 600/512MB SDRAM system. The best part of this game is not the play itself (which does live up the hype btw) but the packaging. Now all they (publishers) have to do is get rid of those unnecessary oversized game boxes! 5) P2-300, ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro, 160 MB Ram, 70 GB Ultra2 SCSI, works beautifully 6) Works fine 7) Works fine with SP2 & Geforce3 8) Works great 9) 100% working under Win2K Pro SP2 with latest NVidia drivers. http://www.maxpayne.com/support/

With MAX its the same as Quake III Arena, you have to right click the CD-ROM drive once the CD is in the drive and choose to open the drive. Then find the setup.exe executable and run it. Also, patch it to the latest version and you're done.

Had to run Setup.exe from CD to get installation to work.

Had to download and run a 3rd party fix to get sounds in cut scenes to work. (http://shotgun1.shackspace.com/files/Max_Payne_Vista_Sound_Fix.zip)

Requires some extra steps in order to function under Vista x64. (Some, if not all, of these have been mentioned earlier)

1) The autoloader will not function under Vista64, so you must manually run "Setup.exe" located in the Disk1 directory of your game CD to install the game.

2) Patch the game to the latest version (V1.05, I believe).

3) Use the aforementioned Vista sound fix to enable audio during the cutscenes.

4) Enjoy Max Payne!

I haven't played through much of the game since the install, but there have been no issues so far.

The game runs smoothly only with one issue - there is no sound. But there is a unofficial fix that takes care of the problem. After applying the fix games runs without any problems. But you won't be able to use any mods.

I heard that there is another fix that allows you to play the games with mods. In case I will find something I will post it later.
