This game says it requires DirectX 3a. You will be warned by this during installation. Just press cancel and continue installing. Do NOT install DirectX 3a. When the game is installed and you try to run it you get the same error; Requires DirectX 3a. Now change the shortcut for Dark Reign from SPLASH.EXE to DREIGN.EXE in the install directory. Use this modifies shortcut to run the game. No more warnings about DirectX 3a. This also works with the 1.2 patch.
