Sound acts stupid sometimes, but this problem might be fixed with the release of 2.6.9, I suspect. I've seen some ATI IXP related work in the changelogs.
Also running OpenBSD, but that won't work unless ACPI is disable. FreeBSD for some reason totally refused to boot for me, whether I enabled or disable ACPI. QNX Neutrino installs and boots fine, however you won't be able to hear sound or go online because it cannot see the laptop's network card, nor can it recognize other devices like the audio devices and etc.
