Canon Web site at http://consumer.usa.canon.com/techsupport/faq/xp_printer.html says printer is not supported under Windows XP. Windows 2000 drivers can be used under Windows XP with some difficulty. Extract files from BJC-5000W2K.EXE and copy OEMSETUP.INF file to C:Windowsinf directory. Select BJC-5100 driver from the manual Windows XP driver installation choices, being sure not to use Plug-N-Play because Windows XP will not detect OEMSETUP.INF as compatible with a Plug-N-Play detected BJC-5100 and will not allow selection of that driver for installation. During the installation process it is required to direct the software to the directory locations of the other driver files.
