works fine using ndiswrapper 1.14, except missing some functionality in reporting signal data under
iwlist wlan0 scan
could only test against an unsecured unencrypted

After adding with ndiswrapper and modprobing - use System>Administration>Networking in Ubuntu to configure wireless settings.
