step 1- copy the file "western" that's in the English.pdi directory on the cd to the 3skulls directory where you installed it (c:\3skulls unless you installed it somewhere else)
2 edit 3skulls.bat that is in the main directory were you installed the game so it reads
picture c:\3skulls\WESTERN
now you should be able to to run the game using VDMsound (you might need to run setsound.exe first to configure sound. Also use VDMsound for that)
for me the game was still sluggish so I used DOSbox and pressed ctrl+F12 to raise the speed of the emulation.
(I also had to run setsound.exe within dosbox... for some reason it doesn't work if you don't do that first)

I get to the part of the game where Filmore pushes the guy out of the stationary air balloon basket. He then flies off in the balloon, moves to the left of the screen and then the game quits. its as if someone has hit the X at the top of the game. how do i fix this?!?!?!?!

Copy the file "western" from languagePDI (or something) to the main directory (yes, this means copying the cd to your harddisk) and start:
picture western
in a dosbox.
If you have problems setting up the soundcard with setsound, use VDMSound (http://ntvdm.cjb.net/).
