Hi.

I have been working with Windows for years and have finally decided to hop on board with Linux, specifically Red Hat which was included with a book I got. I am running a Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz machine with 256 MB of RAM and a Red Hat 9.0 OS. I have everything working except my wireless USB card.

It is a Linksys WUSB11 - Instant Wireless Series - Wireless USB Network Adapter. I have been to every site, Red Hat, Linksys, etc... and I still can not get this thing to work. I am still a beginner when it comes to working in the shell but I am learning fast. If anyone out there could help me or at least tell me to get a new card, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I also have a linksys wireless router. I could not get it to work so I run a cable from the router to my computer.

Or does one of the built in drivers manage to get this thing to work? I have noticed that some of the Linksys NIC and PC cards use Lucent and D-Link drivers.

There shouldn't be a problem with the Linksys router. Check here for what will work with it and what won't.

If you can't get that usb adapter to work, here's a good alternative which linux-wlan.org says uses prism "drivers" that work with Linux.

" Red Hat which was included with a book I got."

Hmmm...what version of RedHat came with the book?
