This product has been tested on the following operating systems: Linux other,Ark Linux and has a average rating of 4

The last rating (1) has been submitted on 2007-04-27 12:15:22 by Anonymous running Linux other:
Just letting you know, that the Optorite DD0401 (DVD+-RW) is not compatible with Linux, at least based on my experience wih one particular drive. I couldn't find much info on this on the net, so I tought you might appreciate this info.

It worked fine as a CD-ROM, but after the first time I tried burning a CD (with standard k3b as shipped on mandrake 9.2) it stopped working. First the burning fails, then you can't use the drive anymore. The computer will recognize the drive (both bios, Linux and Windows do) but mount will return "no medium available" or something like that, and Windows says "Device not ready".
